Quepos itself is a working fishing town, and the things to do here are practical rather than monumental: a stroll around the harbour, a meal in a fuselage cantilevered over the rainforest, a half-day on a sport-fishing boat, or an early start for Manuel Antonio National Park a few kilometres up the road. The marina is the smartest part of town; downtown, the streets near the old pier are scruffier and more interesting.
