Sharky's is the loudest, busiest, most unapologetically expat bar in central Tamarindo. Big screens for whatever sports are on, two-for-one happy hours, a long happy crowd of surfers, divemasters, and travellers from late afternoon onwards. Music takes over after sunset and it stays going until two.
Not the place for a quiet drink. Cheap beers, generous pours, the food is American bar standard and serviceable. If you want a livelier alternative, La Oveja Negra a block away has a younger crowd and a dancier soundtrack. Both are easy to find on the main road.
