Playa Frontón

Cliff-backed beach reached only by boat

Playa Frontón is a steep crescent of white sand backed by sheer green cliffs, accessible only by boat (15 minutes from Las Galeras) or a strenuous hour-long hike through the forest. The beach faces the open Atlantic, the water is unusually clear, and a shallow reef close to shore makes the snorkelling among the best in the region.

There are no facilities. Boatmen typically drop visitors off and return at an agreed time, usually four hours later — bring water, food, sunblock, and your snorkel gear. Don't underestimate the sun: there is little shade once the day warms up.
