The only public transport to Nanortalik is Air Greenland's helicopter service, which connects through Narsaq and Qaqortoq from Narsarsuaq. The ferry connection from Qaqortoq was permanently cancelled, leaving the helicopter as the sole option. It is expensive, which has reduced both local travel and tourist numbers.
