Falmouth, 35 km east along the coast, is the standout day trip — one of the best-preserved Georgian towns in the Caribbean and far more interesting than anything in MoBay itself. The bamboo rafting trips down the Martha Brae River start just inland from Falmouth and pair well with a walking tour of the old port.
Closer to home, the Green Grotto Caves (between Falmouth and Ocho Rios) and the Belvedere Estate in the hills above Reading make easy half-day excursions. Negril's seven-mile beach is about 90 minutes west and can be done in a day, but it deserves an overnight.
