GoldenEye Estate

Ian Fleming built this house on the headland in 1946 and returned every winter to write until his death in 1964. All thirteen Bond novels were typed here. The house is now part of the Island Outpost luxury resort, but tours are available for non-guests. It is smaller and more modest than you might expect — a simple two-bedroom villa with a large study — which somehow makes it more atmospheric. The desk where Fleming worked is still there. The setting above the bay, with views out to sea, explains why he kept coming back.
