Getting There

By air: General Roberto Fierro Villalobos International Airport (CUU) is 15 km from the city centre. Several Mexican airlines operate direct flights from Mexico City, Monterrey, and Guadalajara. There are some direct flights to and from US cities.

By train: El Chepe — the Chihuahua al Pacífico railway — departs from the central station. The full journey west to Los Mochis takes around 16 hours; most travellers use it to reach the Copper Canyon towns of Creel and Divisadero.

By bus: The Central de Autobuses is the main long-distance bus terminal. Buses run to Mexico City (18–20 hours), Monterrey (8 hours), Ciudad Juárez (4 hours) at the US border, and many other destinations. The Chihuahua–Ciudad Juárez route is frequent and fast.

By car: Chihuahua is on Federal Highway 45 connecting Mexico City with Ciudad Juárez and the US border. The drive from Ciudad Juárez is about 4 hours; from Monterrey, around 7 hours.
