Olas Altas Beach is the curving beach just west of Mazatlán's Centro Histórico, backed by the popular Malecón and a line of restaurants and bars. It is one of the easiest beaches to reach from the old town.
The beach is more about atmosphere than isolation: waves, sunset walks, cliff divers nearby, and the city pressing close behind the sand. From Plaza Machado it is only a short walk west.
