Playa Bruja sits toward the northern edge of Mazatlán's beach strip, where the resort-city polish gives way to a rougher surf break. The waves are usually more serious here than on the sheltered city beaches, which makes it a favourite with surfers and a less predictable place for casual swimming.
Come for a beach walk, a surf check, or seafood at the restaurants near the sand. Conditions matter: on a powerful day the water is for experienced surfers rather than families, while quieter days make the beach a relaxed escape from the Golden Zone. Sunset is the easy win.
