Café del Mar opens early enough for birders catching the dawn boat to La Tovara and serves decent filter coffee, fresh-squeezed orange juice, and simple breakfasts. The tables outside catch the morning shade and are pleasant before the heat builds. It is one of the few places in San Blas where you can get a proper coffee rather than instant; in the evenings it stays open as a low-key spot for drinks.
