Mike y Lola's

Palapa bar on the plaza, cold beer and a good spot for watching the square

Mike y Lola's is the most reliably open bar on the main plaza — a palapa-roofed spot with plastic tables, cold Pacifico and Modelo, and a direct view across the square. It has the relaxed atmosphere typical of San Blas: unhurried service, low prices, and a clientele that mixes fishermen with passing surfers and the occasional birder. The jejenes start biting around dusk, at which point the fans above the bar do only so much. Keep repellent handy.
