Café Chiquito is a thin slot of a place tucked into Callejón González Aparicio, a couple of doors off Parque Juárez. It has been pulling espresso since the 1930s and remains one of the better cups in the centre — beans from Coatepec, roasted in town, made on an Italian machine that looks older than most of the customers.
There are only a handful of tables and a marble counter. Open from breakfast through early evening. Pair the coffee with a concha (Mexican sweet bread) from the panadería next door.
