Salto de Agua sits on the main highway connecting Palenque (about 100 km west) with San Cristóbal de las Casas (about 180 km south). Colectivo minibuses and second-class buses run regularly along this corridor and stop in town. Most travellers visit the waterfalls as a day trip from Palenque, or stop en route to or from San Cristóbal. There is no direct bus from Salto de Agua to the falls — hire a taxi from town or flag down a vehicle on the highway.
