Misol-Ha is a single-drop waterfall that plunges about 35 metres into a wide, dark pool ringed by tropical vegetation. It is a more intimate stop than Agua Azul — fewer crowds, a cooler microclimate, and a remarkable extra: a path behind the curtain of falling water leads into a shallow cave that stretches back into the hillside. The noise and spray inside are extraordinary.
The site is well run by the local ejido and has basic facilities including a small restaurant and changing rooms. Most travellers combine Misol-Ha with Agua Azul on the same day, as it sits on the same road between Palenque and Salto de Agua, about 20 km from Palenque.
