The Zacatecas Aqueduct is one of the city's most visible colonial-era engineering works, with tall stone arches running through the heart of Zacatecas. Built more than 250 years ago, it once carried water into the city and now works as a landmark that helps frame the historic centre.
It is an easy stop while walking between central Zacatecas sights, especially around Parque Sierra de Alica where the arches are most prominent.
