Kralendijk is sociable rather than wild after dark. Waterfront terraces fill around sunset, then thin out as people with early dive plans go home. Karel's Beach Bar, built over the water on a central pier, is the long-running institution and an easy place to watch the harbour.
For local drinks, La Cantina combines a beer café with a courtyard restaurant, while Sugar Thief serves beer, mead, kombucha, coffee, and soft drinks made on Bonaire. Opening days change more often than guidebooks do, so check on the day rather than planning a night around an old schedule. If you are driving, remember that almost every trip home leaves town on a dark road shared with donkeys and cyclists.
