Los Pozos Termales — the Anton Valley hot springs — sit on the western edge of town and consist of a series of small pools cut into the rock, each at a slightly different temperature. The water is not scalding but warm enough to be comfortable, and the setting in the shadow of the crater wall is pleasant even if the facilities themselves are fairly basic.
The springs are popular with locals on weekends and attract a steady stream of visitors throughout the week. They are best visited in the early morning or late afternoon to avoid the midday crowds. Several tour operators from Panama City include the hot springs in day or overnight packages, which is worth knowing — the pools can fill up on weekend mornings when city visitors arrive in numbers. The entrance fee is small. There are changing rooms on site.
