Aguadilla

Northwest Puerto Rican surf town with Atlantic breaks, cliffs, and Mona Passage sunsets.

Aguadilla sits on the northwest corner of Puerto Rico, where the Atlantic meets the Caribbean. It is best known for its surfing — Crash Boat Beach and the breaks around Wilderness draw surfers from across the island and beyond. The annual world surfing championship events held here are a testament to the quality of the waves.

Beyond the surf, the town has a relaxed, unhurried feel. The coastline is dramatic, with cliffs dropping to turquoise water, and the sunsets over the Mona Passage are among the best on the island. Las Cascadas water park provides family entertainment, and the old Ramey Air Force Base area has been repurposed with a golf course and recreational facilities.
