On Providenciales
There is no public bus service anywhere in the Turks and Caicos. On Providenciales, renting a car is the practical choice — the island is spread out and taxis are expensive. Driving is on the left. Most rental companies are located at or near the airport and charge around USD 50 per day including taxes.
Taxis are metered and operate from the airport and major hotels. For regular travel between Grace Bay, the airport, and Downtown, expect to pay USD 20–35 per trip. Shared taxis are available on some routes.
Inter-Island Ferries
Caribbean Cruisin' is the main ferry operator, running passenger services from the Heaving Down Rock Marina (Walkin Marina) on the eastern end of Providenciales.
- North Caicos: five departures daily, approximately 30 minutes, return ticket around USD 70
- South Caicos: twice weekly service
- Salt Cay: community ferry runs Wednesday and Friday from Grand Turk; return ticket around USD 15
North Caicos and Middle Caicos are connected by a causeway, so once on North Caicos you can drive to Middle Caicos.
Inter-Island Flights
Two local carriers, Caicos Express and interCaribbean, operate scheduled services connecting most of the inhabited islands. The busiest route is between Providenciales and Grand Turk, with several flights daily. Flights to South Caicos run daily; Salt Cay and North Caicos see only a few flights per week.
There are no scheduled flights to Pine Cay or Ambergris Cay — charter aircraft only. Middle Caicos has no functioning airport.
Round-trip fares between islands start at around USD 135. Booking ahead is strongly recommended, especially in high season.
