The Turks and Caicos has two distinct seasons: a dry, cooler period from December through April, and a warmer, wetter period from May through November that overlaps with the Atlantic hurricane season.
High season runs December through April. The weather is consistently fine — dry, sunny, and warm, with daytime temperatures around 26–28°C (79–82°F). Trade winds keep the heat manageable. This is also peak price season: accommodation rates are 30–50% higher than the rest of the year, and flights fill up quickly.
April and May are widely considered the best time to visit if you want good weather with fewer crowds and lower prices. Rainfall is low, temperatures are pleasant, and the peak-season rush has eased.
June through November is hurricane season. Most years pass without a direct hit, but the risk is real and increases through August and September. Rainfall is higher, particularly from August through October, though showers tend to be brief. Prices drop significantly and the islands are noticeably quieter.
January through March is whale season. Humpback whales migrate through the Turks Island Passage, and boat trips from Grand Turk and Salt Cay offer some of the best whale watching in the Caribbean. This coincides perfectly with the high season.
Water temperatures stay between 26–29°C (79–84°F) year-round — always comfortable for swimming and diving.
