A narrow mudstone slot canyon in the Borrego Badlands, accessed by a rough four-wheel-drive road off Borrego Salton Seaway. The walls close in to less than a metre apart in places, and at one famous spot a fallen rock forms a natural bridge overhead — the canyon walls tower fifty feet above your head while you squeeze through sideways.
It is a short walk — twenty minutes in and out, with the option of continuing through to a longer loop — but a memorable one. Avoid in stormy weather: flash floods through the slot are unsurvivable. Wear shoes you don't mind scuffing.
