Most of what you do in Borrego Springs happens outside the town: hiking into palm-lined canyons, driving washboard dirt roads into the badlands, spotting metal dinosaurs in the open desert, and looking up at one of the darkest night skies in Southern California. Pick a base in the centre and use it for a few days of poking around the park.
