Julian Pioneer Museum

The Julian Pioneer Museum covers the town's history from its Native American past through the gold rush and into the 20th century. The collection includes gold mining equipment, period clothing, household items, and photographs documenting the transformation of the area from a mining camp into a farming and ranching community.

The museum occupies a small building on Washington Street and is run by volunteers. It is modest but informative — a good complement to the Eagle Mine tour if you want context for the history you're walking through. The volunteer guides are often Julian old-timers with detailed knowledge of local family histories.
