High Camp

High Camp sits at 8,200 feet at the top of the Palisades Tahoe aerial tram, offering some of the most dramatic views in the Lake Tahoe region. On a clear day the panorama takes in the deep blue of Lake Tahoe to the south and ridgelines of the Sierra Nevada stretching in every direction.

In ski season High Camp is a mid-mountain hub with food, a bar, and access to upper lifts. In summer the tram runs daily from late June through early September, and the platform becomes the starting point for hikes into the Granite Chief Wilderness. The swimming pool and hot tub at High Camp operate through summer — swimming at 8,200 feet with a mountain backdrop is worth the tram ticket alone.

The tram ride takes about 12 minutes each way. Arrive early in summer to avoid queues; the first trams of the day are the least crowded.
