Fullerton Transportation Center

The Fullerton Transportation Center, on the southern edge of downtown, is one of the oldest active train stations in Southern California — the original Spanish Mission Revival depot was built in 1930 by the Santa Fe Railway, and a smaller 1923 Union Pacific depot stands next to it. Today the station handles around twenty Amtrak Pacific Surfliner trains a day plus Metrolink commuter services to Los Angeles and San Bernardino.

For visitors the station is mostly a convenient way to reach Fullerton without driving — the Pacific Surfliner from Los Angeles takes about 35 minutes — but the building itself is worth a look. The tile roof, arched windows, and weathered limestone interior are among the best-preserved railroad architecture in Orange County.
