Murphy Avenue, Sunnyvale's pedestrianised downtown strip, is where most of the city's bars and cafés concentrate. The mid-block stretch between Evelyn and Iowa fills up on Friday and Saturday evenings; the rest of the week is quieter.
For coffee, Caffe Macs and Caffe Frascati are the local independents. For beer, Faultline Brewing Company (just south of the centre on E. Caribbean Drive) is the long-running brewpub of choice. The Pearl, near Sunnyvale Caltrain station, is a popular cocktail bar.
