Getting There

Sunnyvale is in the middle of Silicon Valley, well connected by air and by rail. San Jose International Airport (SJC), about ten miles east, is the closest major airport. San Francisco International (SFO) is 25 miles north on US-101 and has more long-haul flights. Oakland International (OAK) is around 35 miles north across the Bay.

Caltrain stops at Sunnyvale station downtown, with direct services to San Francisco (around an hour) and San Jose (15 minutes). The VTA light rail does not reach Sunnyvale; the closest stop is in Mountain View. Most people who live and work in the area drive — US-101, Lawrence Expressway, and Central Expressway form the local arterials.
