Getting Around

Key West is flat and compact, and most of Old Town is easily walkable. A bicycle is the ideal way to get around — rental shops are everywhere, and the island has good bike lanes on the main routes. Scooter rentals are popular too, though traffic on Duval can be hectic. If you drove down, try to park your car and leave it — street parking in Old Town is scarce and metered, and the one-way streets are confusing. The city runs a free shuttle (the Duval Loop) along Duval Street and surrounding blocks. Taxis and rideshares are available but the island is small enough that you rarely need them.
