Cowrock Mountain is a rewarding Appalachian Trail climb north of Helen, inside Raven Cliffs Wilderness. The summit opens onto wide views over White County and the surrounding ridges, with Wildcat Mountain rising nearby.
It is best treated as a proper mountain hike rather than a roadside overlook. Bring water, watch the weather, and expect the trail to feel more remote than Helen's Bavarian storefronts suggest.
