The East Bank District is Bossier's small but determined attempt at a walkable arts and entertainment quarter, centred on Barksdale Boulevard a few blocks back from the river. Old commercial buildings have been gradually converted into restaurants, breweries, a brewery taproom or two, and event spaces.
It is not Austin or even nearby downtown Shreveport, but it is the closest thing Bossier has to a neighbourhood with personality outside the casinos. The block parties and farmers' markets here on weekend nights are usually the most local thing happening on the east bank.
