The Winslow Crocker House on Route 6A in Yarmouthport is a 1780 Georgian colonial house maintained by Historic New England, containing one of the finest collections of early American furniture and decorative arts in the region. The house is preserved as it was when its last private owner, Mary Thacher, arranged it in the 1930s — making it a document of both 18th-century Cape Cod life and early 20th-century American antique collecting.
The house is open for tours in summer and early autumn. The furniture and objects inside are of exceptional quality — pieces that would be the highlights of museum collections in cities. The building's exterior, with its distinctive weathered shingles and symmetrical Georgian facade, is one of the finest examples of colonial Cape Cod domestic architecture surviving on the peninsula.
