Minneapolis Armory

The Minneapolis Armory is a 1935 WPA-era building near the US Bank Stadium that served as the state's main National Guard facility until 1993. The building is a large, imposing example of the stripped classical style favoured for public buildings during the New Deal period — massive masonry walls, minimal ornament, and a fortress-like presence that reflects its military purpose.

The building was converted to an event venue in recent years and now hosts concerts, corporate events, and sporting events. It is notable architecturally as one of the few surviving large WPA-era public buildings in Minneapolis and sits in the developing stadium district near the Vikings' US Bank Stadium.
