Shopping

The Mall of America in nearby Bloomington is the largest mall in the country and a destination in itself, with over 500 stores and an indoor amusement park. But Minneapolis has more interesting shopping closer to the city center. Uptown's Hennepin Avenue and Lake Street are lined with independent boutiques and vintage shops. The North Loop neighborhood has a growing cluster of design and home goods stores. For something different, Midtown Global Market on Lake Street brings together food vendors and small shops from dozens of immigrant communities under one roof.
