Minneapolis has a more interesting food scene than most people expect. Strong Vietnamese, Hmong, Somali, and Mexican communities mean you can eat very well for very little, especially along Eat Street (Nicollet Avenue south of downtown) and Lake Street in the Phillips and Powderhorn neighborhoods. The Northeast neighborhood is the city's brewing and dining hotspot, with new restaurants opening regularly alongside old-school establishments.
