It is the closest thing the Mississippi Gulf Coast has to a Las Vegas property, and it performs a similar function: drawing visitors who might otherwise have no reason to stop in Biloxi.
The resort hosts major entertainment events — touring concerts, boxing matches, poker tournaments — that bring in visitors from across the South. The restaurants are several cuts above typical casino food. Worth noting if you are staying in the area and want a nice dinner somewhere with functioning air conditioning.
