Jefferson Landing preserves a cluster of 19th-century commercial buildings on the Missouri River waterfront, the site of the original steamboat landing that gave the city its early importance. The Lohman Building, dating to 1839, is the most prominent structure — it served as a warehouse and trading post during the height of steamboat traffic on the Missouri. Today the complex houses the Missouri River State Trail visitor center and a small gallery space.
It's a pleasant spot to walk the riverside, watch the river traffic, and imagine the city as a bustling steamboat port. The bridge across the Missouri here offers good views in both directions.
