W.T. Thorne Building

The W.T. Thorne Building, also known as the Hostetler's Opera House, is a historic three-storey commercial building on Minden's main square, listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Built in the late 19th century, it is one of the more substantial surviving commercial buildings of that era in south-central Nebraska, with a decorated brick facade that speaks to the ambitions of the town's merchants during the homestead boom.

The building has housed various commercial tenants over the years. Together with the Kearney County Courthouse across the square, it represents the surviving core of Minden's historic commercial district. A brief detour from Pioneer Village for those interested in Great Plains architecture.
