The oldest building still in continuous use on the Dartmouth campus, built in 1854. The observatory has a 9.3-inch refractor telescope and a small transit instrument. Public viewing nights are held periodically through the year; check the Dartmouth physics department website for the schedule. The building sits on a small rise at the east end of campus with a good view across the green.
