Getting There

By car, Atlantic City is at the end of the Atlantic City Expressway, around an hour from Philadelphia and 2.5 hours from New York. By bus, dozens of cheap coaches run daily from New York City (Port Authority), Philadelphia and Baltimore, many subsidised by the casinos and returning some or all of the fare in gambling credits. By train, NJ Transit runs the Atlantic City Line from Philadelphia's 30th Street Station via Cherry Hill (about 90 minutes). By air, Atlantic City International Airport (ACY), 16 km north-west of the city, is mostly served by Spirit Airlines on domestic routes; most international visitors fly into Philadelphia (PHL) — an hour by road — or Newark (EWR) and New York JFK, both about two hours away.
