Sam's Pizza Palace

Sam's Pizza Palace has been on the boardwalk at Schellenger Avenue since 1957 and is the Wildwood pizza-by-the-slice that lifelong visitors return to. The pie is thin, oily, foldable, and best eaten standing at the counter — not the place for a critical assessment of crust technique, very much the place for a hot slice after a swim.

Lines are long after dark in midsummer. The pepperoni and the white pizza are the standout choices; the slices are cut large.
