Stewart Park

Cayuga Lake park with open lawns, birding areas, paths, and Ithaca's easiest waterfront stroll.

Stewart Park gives Ithaca its most accessible Cayuga Lake shoreline, with lawns, paths, pavilions, a duck pond, and views north along the water. It is not as dramatic as the gorges, but it fills a different role: an easy, flat place to slow down, picnic, watch birds, or start onto the Cayuga Waterfront Trail.

The park is good for families and for anyone who wants lake air without driving to a state park. Swimming is not the point here; use it for walking, cycling, birding, and sunsets. It pairs well with the Farmers Market when that is running nearby.
