Reg Lenna Center for the Arts

The Reg Lenna Center for the Arts is Jamestown's main performance venue, occupying a beautifully restored 1923 movie palace on East Third Street. The building started life as the Palace Theater, a vaudeville and silent-film house with an organ pit and a gilded proscenium; it was refurbished in the 1980s and named after a local businessman who funded the work.

The current programme mixes touring music acts, film festivals, dance, and the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation lecture series. Even outside performance times the lobby is worth a look — the original ornate plasterwork and stained glass have been preserved. The Reg Lenna also hosts the Jamestown chapter of the Lucille Ball Comedy Festival each summer.
