Skaneateles is 30 km southwest of Syracuse on US-20, the old turnpike that runs across the top of the Finger Lakes. Syracuse Hancock International Airport is the closest, with daily flights to most northeast US cities.
There is no train or scheduled bus to Skaneateles itself. The nearest Amtrak stop is Syracuse, from where it is a 30-minute drive or an expensive taxi ride. Renting a car at the airport is the most flexible option for visiting other Finger Lakes towns and wineries.
