Most of what makes Skaneateles worth a visit is walkable from the village green: a Federal-era main street, a waterfront park looking down the lake, and a tight knot of historic houses and churches. Beyond the village, lake cruises, a few back-road wineries, and the wooded shoreline drives along East and West Lake roads will fill out a weekend.
