Clark Reservation State Park protects one of the Syracuse area's most distinctive landscapes: a glacial plunge basin with a deep lake, limestone cliffs, woods, and wetland edges. Trails circle the water and climb the rim, giving a compact but satisfying dose of upstate geology.
It is close enough to Syracuse to work as an easy outdoor detour, especially if you have a car. Wear shoes with decent grip, as the best parts of the park involve uneven paths and cliffside terrain rather than paved strolling.
