Carowinds is a large amusement park on the North Carolina-South Carolina line, just south of Charlotte. The park has a deep roster of roller coasters, water rides, family rides, and seasonal events, making it one of the region's biggest family attractions.
It is easiest to visit by car from Charlotte. The entrance is close to I-77, and the park can take most of a day if you plan to ride the major coasters.
