The Naturealm is a 100-acre Metro Park on Akron's west side, given to the city by Goodyear co-founder F.A. Seiberling (the same Seiberling whose Stan Hywet estate is a kilometre east). The park is laid out as a series of looping interpretive trails through hardwood forest, around three small lakes, and past a butterfly garden — the longest loop is about three miles, the shortest under a kilometre.
The visitor centre at the entrance is genuinely good: a small interpretive museum, large picture windows looking out onto bird feeders that attract chickadees, nuthatches, woodpeckers, and the occasional pileated, plus a small library and the trail maps you need.
This is the best inner-city place in Akron for a quick nature walk. Open dawn to dusk; admission free. Best in May for spring migration and warblers, in October for the colour.
