Miami sits on the I-44 / US-69 corridor in the far northeast corner of Oklahoma, about 90 miles northeast of Tulsa and 90 miles south of Kansas City via Joplin. The town is a five-minute drive off the interstate.
There is no scheduled passenger rail. Greyhound buses serve nearby Joplin, Missouri, fifteen minutes east. The closest commercial airports are Joplin (JLN), Tulsa (TUL) and Northwest Arkansas (XNA). For Route 66 drivers, Miami is the first significant Oklahoma stop heading west from Kansas.
