Moore-Lindsay Historical House Museum

A perfectly preserved 1899 Queen Anne mansion on Peters Avenue, four blocks west of downtown Norman. Built for Tyler Moore, a Cleveland County prosecutor, and later occupied by the prominent Lindsay family, the house has been a city museum since 1975. It is the best surviving example of late-Victorian residential architecture in Oklahoma, with the round tower, asymmetrical massing, fish-scale shingles, and broad porches of the style.

The interior is furnished with period pieces from the founding-era of the state of Oklahoma, with strong material on the territorial period and the early years of Norman as a railroad town. Guided tours roughly once an hour; small admission charge; closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
