A small but focused museum dedicated to the quilting tradition of Lancaster County — one of the most distinctive American folk-art traditions, especially among the Amish and Mennonite communities. The galleries rotate exhibitions of historic quilts and modern textile art, with detailed wall text about pattern names, dye sources, and the social context in which the quilts were sewn.
Two doors down from the Heritage Center on Penn Square. Allow about an hour. The small museum shop sells reproductions and a worthwhile selection of books on Pennsylvania textile history.
